Turkey’s the widest database of peer-reviews, TR Index is not only the most extensive full text database but also a Citation Database with newly added features and is still leading the field.
In this context, an official launch and publicity was organized at Congresium Ankara on 13 September 2019 to announce the new features and interface of TR Index to the public.
With presentations and speeches of Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL, the President of TÜBİTAK, M. Mirat SATOĞLU, the Director of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, Prof. Dr. Abdullah ATALAR, the Rector of Bilkent University, James TESTA, Vice President and Chief Editor of Clarivate Analytics, Prof. Dr. Semih Baskan, the Dean of Faculty of Medicine of Okan University Prof. Dr. Canan Uluoğlu ve and Prof. Dr. Zafer Koçak and Sibel TABANLIOĞLU, TR Index Expert, more than 350 participants attended the event.
Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL, the President of TÜBİTAK, underlined the quality of our national publications and the national importance of TR index related thereto and added that at these times when the quality and influence of publications is more important than their quantity, national publications are also analyzed and performance measurements were performed by researcher, institution and field with the references of researchers and journals through TR Index.
James TESTA, Vice President and Chief Editor of Clarivate Analytics highlighted that the number of Turkey-addressed journals included in Web of Science has significantly increased thanks to TR Index.
Prof. Dr. Abdullah ATALAR, the Rector of Bilkent University stressed the importance of paid journals and Prof. Dr. Semih Baskan, the Dean of Faculty of Medicine of Okan University and former committee member of TR Index informed about the brief history of TR Index.
The event continued with ethics-themed speech by Prof. Dr. Canan Uluoğlu and the presentation of Prof. Dr Zafer Koçak about looter journals.
Ecofriendly and recyclable products were used throughout the event and 200 seedlings were donated to TEMA Foundation on behalf of TR Index.
